Amitabh Bachchan begins shooting after surgery

Amitabh Bachchan has begun to shot for this movies after his surgery. He is currently shooting for Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (Never Say Goodbye). This is the first time the actor has entered the studio since his stomach surgery in Dec 17, 2005. Also in the news is that Sony has acquired the music rights of Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna being directed by Karan Johar and stars Amitabh Bachchan , Shahrukh Khan , Rani Mukherjee , Preity Zinta , Abhishek Bachchan and Arjun Rampal .

Vivek Oberoi recently opted out of Mani Ratnam’s Guru . Vivek was to star opposite Vidya Balan with the lead role being played by Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai . Mallika Sherawat has been signed by Mani Ratnam to play a cameo role in his next venture Guru. Sherawat's soon to be movie is Subhash Ghai's Shaadi Se Pehle , which is directed by Satish Kaushik and stars Akshaye Khanna and Ayesha Takia . Maniratnam will be shooting his movie, Guru, this month in London, Yemen and Peru with Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai and hope to finish the shooting in about 20 days.

The film is directed by Jag Mundhra and stars Aishwarya Rai and Naveen Andrews. Ash has also being a jury member at the Cannes and four years ago her film Devdas was screened at the Cannes. The film is produced by Dr. J Murli Manohar, who will have another film, Infinite Justice, also screened at Cannes. Provoked is being distributed by an American company – Lee Daniel's Entertainment which also distributed a Halle Berry starrer, Monster's Ball.

Tentative Release Date for Umrao Jaan Set

J P Dutta's Umrao Jaan with Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai to heat up the summer. The shooting of Umrao Jaan , a remake of the 80s hit Umrao Jaan starring Rekha, came to a completion last week in Jaipur. With only some final touches left to be completed over the next month, the movie is rest to release in May or June 2006. The movie star cast also includes Abhishek Bachchan (in the role of Nawaab Sultaan), Shabana Azmi, Suniel Shetty, Divya Dutta, Ayesha Julka, Bikram Saluja and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. In this movie, Aishwarya Rai will be dance to Alka Yagnik's mujra song before Abhishek Bachchan . Anu Malik is the music director of the film and has given brilliant ghazals.
