Gambhir now has 2271 runs (average of 54.07), the most by an Indian. In 25 matches, Gambhir has also scored 10 half-centuries and a double hundred. In the three test matches in New Zealand, Gambhir has scored 445 runs at an average of 89. Since his return on December 2007, after a gap of two years, Gambhir has scored 1587 runs in just 12 Tests at an average of 144.
