Sony 16.4 Inch Wide Multimedia Notebook Comment

Sony Corp: has announced the availibility of a new multimedia notebook notebook. The new Vaio FW notebook, is also the first 16.4 inch laptop to hit the market and promises to enable consumers to view High Definition, Blu ray Disc, movies in a manner they are meant to be seen. The notebooks LCD is constructed with a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is standard used while shooting HD movies. The notebook will be powered by new Intel Centrino 2 technology, with more energy efficiency and performance, along with a HDMI output connector to allow users to connect the laptop to the TV for viewing watch movies on a television set. The packaged Vaio Media software is DLNA enabled and hence allows users to wirelessly stream content stored on laptop throughout their home network. Other features include multiple ports and jacks including Memory Stick media/SD card slot, three USB ports, an i.Link Ieee-1394 port, microphone and headphone jack, and a 34mm ExpressCard slot. The Vaio FW notebook is an eco-friendly product with Energy Star 4.0 compliant. The retail unit will start at $1,000 with the premium edition going upto $1,750.

Malaria Turmoil In Mumbai Comment

Mumbai , India has reported cases of Malaria. The death toll from Malaria has been increasing over the past couple of days. More then 9 people have died over the last week because of Malaria. During a survey of F South and North wards, around 100 mosquito breeding spots were discovered. Lot of nearby construction sites have been found with water stagnation which is a breeding ground for mosquitos.

On Saturday, July 12, 2008, Angelina Jolie gave birth to twin at the Lenval hospital in Nice, France. A boy and a girl were born after a scheduled caesarean section. The boy was named Knox Leon Jolie Pitt and the girl was named Vivienne Marcheline Jolie Pitt. Vivienne is the French version of the ancient Latin name that means alive. The twins, the mother and proud papa, Brad Pitt, are in good health and all are doing fine. Jolie was just recently seen in movie, Wanted.

Anheuser Busch Being Bought By InBev NV Comment

Anheuser Busch, U.S. brewer, has agreed to be bought by Belgium based InBev for a higher price of $52 billion after a month long standoff between the two. This will create the world's largest beer maker. InBev maker of Stella Artois and Beck's, will pay $70 per share for maker of Budweiser.

Shahrukh Khan launchs his own tour which has already begun in June 2008 and will continue thru the summer. Now two of Bollywood's star will be on tour at the same time. The Bachchan's Unforgettable World Tour, which is suppose to star in July 2008 will have to go against the king of Bollywood, SRK , who has already had a great show in Ahoy, Rotterdam, Holland. The Temptation Reloaded 2008 Tour, will feature Shahrukh Khan himself, along with Kareena Kapoor , Katrina Kaif , Ganesh Hedge, Arjun Rampal , Anuska Dandekar, and Javed Ali.

Apple Launches New iPhone Worldwide Comment

Today, the new iPhone was launched by Apple Inc. worldwide. With AT T as the exclusive carrier of the service for the iPhone. Lines were being formed outside the apple story from last night. The new iPhone 3G adds some nice new features along with the lower price (thanks to subsidies by the carrier) of $199, but now AT T will require the phone activation in the store vs at home. In Manhattan's Fifth Avenue, Apple's flagship store, customer had to wait more then 20 minutes to get the new iPhone activated because of some problem with the activation process. iPhone also had good sales in Japan, France, New Zealand, and Germany.

Abu Dhabi Investment Council Buys Chrysler Building Comment

An Abu Dhabi Investment Council, based in Abu Dhabi has bought the Chrysler Building, New York's best known skyscrapers, for 800 million dollars. The 77 story Art Deco skyscraper is located in Midtown Manhattan opposite Grand Central station. The The Chrysler Building was designed by the architect William Van Alen and built between 1928 and 1930. The building was declared a historic monument in 1976 and was built for the Chrysler car company. The fund has over 800 billion dollars of assets and has also recently made a 7.5 billion dollar investment in Citigroup. Many Middle East nations have great access to capital from their oil profit and hence are looking for real estate assets overseas. Just last month, General Motors building located on Fifth Avenue was bought by Investors from Dubai , Kuwait and Qatar for 2.8 billion dollars.

The distributor will follow up their previous successful movie releases like Jab We Met (2007) , Golmaal (2007) , and Bhagambhag with some movies in a different genre then before, which will include suspense thrillers, comedies and action films. First in the lineup will be a movie based on a popular Paresh Rawal's Gujarati play, Maharathis (2008) . A suspense thriller by Shivam Nair's and will star Naseeruddin Shah , Om Puri, Boman Iraani, Paresh Rawal, Tara Sharma and Neha Dhupia . Then it will action packed movie Kidnap (2008) directed by Sanjay Gadhvi and starring Sanjay Dutt , Minissha Lamba , Vidya Malvade, Rahul Dev and Imran Khan . The Indian festive season of Diwali will bring the return of a prior successful movie, Golmaal Fun Unlimited (2006) , with a sequal called Golmaal Returns (2008) starring Ajay Devgan , Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Kareena Kapoor , Celina Jaitley , Amrita Arora and Anjana Sukhani under the direction of Rohit Shetty. This will be followed by two comedy movies being directed by Neeraj Vora, Run Bhola Run (2008) and One Way Ticket. Run Bhola Run will star Govinda , Tusshar Kapoor , Tanushree Dutta and Amisha Patel while One Way Ticket will star Anil Kapoor , Akshaye Khanna plus two Heroines. Under the action genre there will be Blue (2008) and Luck (2008) . Blue (2008) is being directed by Anthony D'Souza and stars Sanjay Dutt , Akshay Kumar , Lara Dutta , Katrina Kaif and Zayed Khan . And Soham Shah will direct Luck (2008) , starring Sanjay Dutt , Imran Khan , Danny Denzongpa, Ravi Kisshen, Mithun Chakraborthy and debutant Shruti Haasan ( Kamal Hassan 's daughter). In the love story department, they have lined up Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh Mudh Mudh Ke (2008) starring Himesh Reshammiya , Niharika Singh , Jennifer Kotwal , and directed by Seema and Sudhir. On top of all the Bollywood movies, Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd. plans four releases in the Telugu and Tamil.
